About the role
We're looking for a Software Engineer to help create custom automation solutions on our newest platform, Stuntman. You'll develop software, AI-assisted tools, and automation workflows that bring together robotics, motion control, liquid handling, optics, temperature control, and precision instrumentation into systems that solve real customer challenges. This is a rare opportunity to own projects from concept through customer delivery. You'll work alongside mechanical, electrical, software, and applications engineers to turn new ideas into working instruments. What you'll bring
- Experience with hardware communication using CANBUS, Serial (232/485), TCP/IP, USB, MODBUS, and i2C
- Experience with trouble shooting automated equipment
- Excellent C# programming skills, including deep knowledge of multi-threaded and event-based designs
- Excellent knowledge of Python
- Good working knowledge of C++ with ATL/COM
- Good at being self-directed to complete projects on time that meet the customer’s requirements
- UI development skills using WPF
- Requires a bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering or equivalent with 5+ years of experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Willing to travel to customers up to 5% of the time.
- Experience with Git desirable
- Experience with process control and motion control is a plus
