As a SSD Architect within Solidigm’s SSD Architecture organization, you will lead the definition and evolution of domain-level architecture for next-generation data center SSD solutions. This role is accountable for setting architectural vision, driving end-to-end system design decisions, and influencing cross-functional engineering execution to deliver high-performance, scalable, and competitive enterprise storage products. You will operate at the intersection of system architecture, silicon design, and firmware development—leveraging deep technical expertise, strategic thinking, and strong cross-functional leadership to shape product direction and drive innovation aligned with business objectives. This position is also eligible to participate in Solidigm's restricted stock unit (RSU), restricted cash unit (RCU), and cash bonus programs. This is a Hybrid role reporting onsite in Rancho Cordova California 3 days per week. Alternate work locations for the role include: San Jose CA, Longmont CO, and Vancouver BC CAN.
What you'll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in embedded systems architecture and design, with hands-on contributions to ASIC and/or firmware development.
- Master’s degree (MS) or higher in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- Deep expertise in one or more SSD architecture domains (e.g., PCIe/NVMe, memory controller, CPU complex).
- Strong understanding of enterprise storage system architecture, including performance optimization, scalability, and reliability considerations.
- Proven experience driving hardware/software partitioning decisions and system-level architectural trade-offs.
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex technical initiatives and influence cross-functional teams at scale.
- Experience in performance modeling, characterization, and QoS optimization for data center storage solutions.
