About the role
The Accountant is responsible for assisting in the monthly financial close and account reconciliation processes, completing quarterly and annual government surveys, assisting in the preparation of grant proposals, tracking expenditures relating to grants and restricted funds received by the Rock Hall, as well as compiling financial data for periodic and annual grant reports. The Accountant is responsible for understanding as well as assuring the Rock Hall’s compliance with state and federal grant regulations. The Accountant is also responsible for reviewing & reporting various tax liabilities of the Rock Hall.
What you'll bring
- Must allocate expenses by appropriate natural and functional classification in compliance with specific report groupings and GAAP.
- Minimum of 3 (three) years of experience in accounting, or related field.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- Ability to enter data accurately and efficiently into computer software and systems.
- Deadline driven self-starter with keen attention to detail.
- Must be multi-tasked oriented and well organized.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Able to work prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to work at least 40 hours per week
- ability to be reachable to respond to Museum needs and requests.
- Ability to work additional hours as business needs demand.
