As a Lead Automation Engineer at Jabil, Inc., you will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining advanced automation solutions across our manufacturing facilities. This role involves leading projects, mentoring junior engineers, and driving continuous improvement in our automation strategies to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
What you'll bring
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in industrial automation, with a strong focus on PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell, Mitsubishi), HMI development, and robotic integration (e.g., FANUC, KUKA, ABB).
- Proven experience leading automation projects from conception to successful implementation.
- Expertise in industrial communication protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Profibus, Modbus).
- Strong understanding of control systems theory, mechatronics, and vision systems.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) for electrical and mechanical design.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams.
- Ability to travel as needed to support various Jabil manufacturing sites.
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulations (e.g., ISO, UL, CE) related to automation and industrial safety.
