About the role
Join our dynamic University Operations department on UCF Main Campus as a Plumber I providing essential plumbing support in the operational maintenance, installation, repair, of sanitation components of campus facilities. This position will troubleshoot and respond to customer requests to provide a safe, functional, clean, efficient, and attractive living and learning environment.
What you'll bring

- Completion of an approved apprenticeship program in plumbing
- or a high school diploma and two years of appropriate experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla.
- 112.219(6).
- UCF policy requires completion and passing of a physical exam for this position.
- Working knowledge of plumbing trades classifications and functions including tools, equipment, materials, and task-specific sequencing required for maintenance, sanitation, and repairs.
- Familiarity with operation and powered drain-cleaning machine, water, and gas shut-off points campus-wide.
- Ability to communicate in conversational English to work effectively with customers and team members, operate electronic equipment (iPad for AiM PM checkpoints), comprehend standard safety procedures, and utilize telecommunication devices.
- General facilities experience within areas of carpentry, HVAC, or similar and possess painting knowledge and skills.
- Team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency using standard office software applications for work order systems (IWMS).
- Capable of understanding and following written/oral instructions with a strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
