About the role
This position will work 20 hours per week, 8-hour shifts from 8am to 4:30pm, schedule will need someone to be flexible in order to meet the needs of the OB and pediatric patient population with flexibility to back-up on other inpatient floors if needed. The OB Social Worker will focus of providing assessments, resources and mental health support/education for patients and families in labor & delivery, postpartum and special care nursery (SCN). The SW will provide services to patients with mental health issues, domestic violence, substance abuse, DCFS involvement, and those with a newborn in the SCN as well as addressing social determinants of health during pregnancy and the postpartum period. The Case Manager/Social Worker reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
What you'll bring
- Master’s degree in social work
- Licensed clinical social worker in the state of Illinois (LCSW)
- 3 to 5 years work experience in hospital setting or related setting
- Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
- Exception: New graduate internal employees seeking their first licensed clinical position at NM may be eligible depending upon the job family.
