About the role

The Field Support Specialist will provide advanced corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair support across multiple solar facilities. This role functions as a regional technical resource, supporting escalated technical issues, non-conformance items, and complex system-level failures while traveling extensively throughout the assigned region. This role is located full-time on a jobsite, and will require travel throughout the Eastern region.

What you'll bring

• High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or equivalent
• Minimum three years of experience in utility-scale solar and/or a related electrical power industry
• Strong corrective maintenance and troubleshooting background required
• Demonstrated understanding of safe electrical and mechanical practices
• Demonstrated advanced knowledge of electrical testing and troubleshooting equipment
• Strong working knowledge of utility-scale solar systems, protection devices, control systems, power supplies, loads, conductors, inverters, transformers, and balance-of-plant equipment
• Strong working knowledge of DC electrical theory and advanced troubleshooting methods for safe and effective work within photovoltaic (PV) arrays
• Ability to troubleshoot network, communications, and telemetry-related issues
• Familiarity with substation operations, including switching plans, one-line diagrams, field drawings, and as-built documentation
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, one-lines, wiring diagrams, field drawings, and as-built documentation
• Strong computer operation skills, including CMMS, system monitoring applications, and standard office software
• Demonstrated ability to produce clear, accurate, and thorough technical documentation and reports
