About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated accountant to join the Controllers Group as a Senior Accounting Associate with a focus on accounting, reporting, and analytics as well as participation in special projects. You will be a self-starter responsible for managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines in a fast paced, time sensitive environment. The Controllers Group supports the financial implementation of new products, services, and systems with countless opportunities for knowledge growth.  This role will have the opportunity to engage with groups across the organization as part of variance analysis, financial statement risk identification, and issue resolution. This role is designated as a hybrid position. You are expected to adhere to Capital One's hybrid policy regarding required on-site presence at your designated office location. What you'll bring

• Bachelor's degree or military experience
• At least 1 year of experience in accounting, external financial reporting, audit, or finance, or a combination
• At least 1 year of experience with Google Workspace or Microsoft Office, or a combination
• Associate, Accounting
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
• 2+ years of experience in accounting, external financial reporting, audit, or finance, or a combination
• 2+ years of experience in Tableau, Python, or SQL, or a combination

• Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting.
• Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
• Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
• Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
