About the role

Program Function:   The Addictions Counselor/ Substance Abuse Counselor will work in a multidisciplinary team environment, providing frontline care to consumers in the IOP, OP and PHP programs. This position is accountable for assisting clients in the development and maintenance of healthy lifestyles and recovery management skills. This position requires a thorough understanding of the organization’s philosophy of treatment, admission process, discharge criteria and aftercare services. Extensive knowledge of substance abuse and dual diagnosis is essential. This position is responsible for ensuring that clinical and administrative services are provided for all consumers in accordance with government and accreditation regulations. This position will be a member of the multidisciplinary team and has the responsibility to carry out rehabilitation and support functions and assist in treatment; substance abuse services, education support and consultation to the persons served.

What you'll bring

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology or behavior-related degree.
• Must be a CSC-AD or licensed therapist by the state of Maryland.
• Must have experience in substance use disorder treatment.
