About the role
As a paralegal on our family law team, you'll work shoulder to shoulder with our attorneys to keep complex litigation moving — drafting, organizing, and managing the details that lead to great outcomes.
What you'll bring
- 3+ years of family law experience and 2+ years of complex litigation experience, with the judgment to produce accurate legal documents with minimal supervision.
- An Associate's degree or certificate in paralegal studies.
- NALA or NC Paralegal Certification and a Notary commission.
- The ability to transcribe legal documents, correspondence, and reports from rough draft or dictation at 70 wpm.
- Sharp organizational skills — you can juggle competing priorities and hit deadlines without missing a beat.
- Strong written and verbal communication, with the courtesy and tact to work effectively across a diverse group of clients, attorneys, and staff.
- Solid proofreading and editing instincts (grammar, punctuation, spelling) and comfort with basic calculations on forms and documents.
- Flexibility for the occasional stretch beyond 40 hours or irregular hours when a case demands it.
