About the role
The Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at High Point University supports the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach in planning, implementing, and overseeing strength and conditioning programs for student-athletes and athletic teams. This role involves instructing proper training techniques, coordinating with coaches and athletic training staff, and ensuring a safe and effective training environment. The Assistant Coach contributes to the development, performance, and well-being of student-athletes while upholding NCAA and Big South Conference regulations and advancing the University’s mission of excellence in education and service. QUALIFICATIONS:
What you'll bring
- Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science or related field.
- CSCS or SCCC Certification.
- A minimum of three years’ experience in professional or Division I collegiate strength and conditioning.
- Certified in strength and conditioning and/or weightlifting by an accredited organization.
- Knowledge, Skills, Ability
- A willingness to learn, grow and hold athletes accountable to the standards of strong character and integrity.
- Knowledge and understanding of all sport programs and the training principals to support each.
- Ability to design sport-specific speed, quickness, and agility workouts.
- Ability to relate to and work with student-athletes, coaches, faculty, and the external community.
- Heavy lifting required.
- Master’s Degree Preferred.
