About the role

Barr is seeking a water resources engineer to join our Denver team. In this hybrid role, you will undertake challenging work on projects related to hydraulic and hydrologic analysis, civil engineering, and related technical activities. A successful person in this role will demonstrate strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite applications, strong written and oral presentation skills, the ability to work independently and collaboratively as a part of a project team, and a flexible working style and willingness to occasionally modify personal schedule as required to meet deadlines and/or client needs. a hybrid work arrangement may be considered for this position. A hybrid work arrangement refers to splitting time worked between a Barr office and a home office. This position is based out of Barr's Denver, Colorado, office. ability to work in locations that include rough terrain typical of construction, manufacturing, or rural outdoor sites with limited accessibility, moving machinery, and other conditions typical of industrial facilities.

What you'll bring

• bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering or a related engineering degree with an emphasis on water resources.
• Familiarity with one or more of the following: hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, open channel and pipe flow, lake and stream water-quality issues, and earthwork and grading plans.
• experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software, CADD, or GIS software.
• possession of a current, valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Master’s degree in civil or environmental engineering or a related degree with an emphasis on water resources.
• Project design experience (e.g., stormwater management facility design, site and roadway design), including preparation of plans and specifications.
• Exposure to GIS, CADD, or other relevant programs.
• Helpful additional experience (not required)
