About the role

As a Senior Analyst covering financial institutions, you will own the credit ratings process for an assigned portfolio of bank and securities firm credits, producing independent, well-supported credit opinions that inform investors, issuers, and the broader market.

• An S&P Global employee at this level would typically have 3+ years of relevant experience in credit or equity research, banking, risk management, underwriting, or a related analytical field.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial statements, apply accounting concepts, and conduct fundamental credit analysis of financial institutions
• Understanding of fixed income and debt capital markets and their application to credit analysis or research
• Ability to evaluate complex information, exercise sound analytical judgment within established frameworks, and communicate recommendations clearly and effectively
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint for financial analysis and reporting
• English: Fluent (able to conduct meetings, collaborate effectively, and communicate clearly in writing and verbally)
• FRM (Financial Risk Manager) designation or equivalent risk management certification
• Experience contributing to analytical projects or team initiatives and working effectively across functions
• Experience providing guidance or sharing technical knowledge with junior colleagues
