About the role
We are seeking a highly skilled Sr. Electrical Commissioning Technician to support the buildout and energization of SpaceXAI's high-performance data centers. In this critical hands-on role, you will perform commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical systems that power our next-generation AI supercomputing infrastructure. You will work closely with construction, engineering, and operations teams to ensure safe, reliable, and high-quality electrical systems from initial installation through full system turnover. This is a full-time, onsite role with significant travel to SpaceXAI data center sites.
What you'll bring
- 3+ years of hands-on electrical commissioning or field technician experience in data centers, power plants, or large industrial facilities.
- Experience with commissioning test equipment (meggers, multimeters, relay test sets, power quality analyzers, etc.).
- Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE, NETA).
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and one-line diagrams.
- Strong safety mindset with current OSHA 10/30 or equivalent training.
- Willingness to work extended hours, nights, and weekends during critical commissioning windows.
- Prior commissioning experience on hyperscale data center projects or mission-critical facilities.
- NETA certification (Level II or higher) or equivalent (e.g., NICET, Journeyman Electrician license).
- Experience with data center power infrastructure including redundant UPS, generators, and busway systems.
- Knowledge of PLC/controls troubleshooting and SCADA systems.
- Proficiency with commissioning management software (e.g., CxPro, Procore, or similar).
- Technical degree or trade school certification in Electrical Engineering Technology or related field.
