About the role
The Capital One Legal Department is seeking an experienced and collaborative corporate trained deal / product attorney to join our Global Payment Network Legal team, to lead our legal strategy and business growth across Latin America, the Caribbean, and Canada (LACC). This is a chance to be a key partner in expanding the global footprint at a Fortune 100 Company that is consistently voted one of the best places to work in the U.S. In this high-impact role, you will serve as a key strategic partner and important voice within the business, helping drive growth across LACC. You will provide essential legal advice and support on a variety of commercial initiatives and transactions for the Discover Global Payment Network, working closely with business and legal partners across the organization. This position will have responsibility for: Strong people skills - we’re looking for someone who can build collegial and effective relationships with colleagues and clients
What you'll bring
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
- Active member in good standing of at least one state bar
- At least 6 years of experience as an attorney in a law firm environment, at a government agency, as a military judge advocate, or as in-house counsel
- Counsel
- 7+ years of experience as an attorney in a law firm environment, at a government agency, as a military judge advocate, or as in-house counsel
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
