About the role
We’re looking for early members of our Android team at the Senior and Staff levels. These aren’t maintenance roles — you’ll help define the architecture and experience of a product that’s genuinely changing how the world makes music. You’ll work directly alongside the founding team, shaping technical and product decisions from the ground up. The Suno Android app is far more than a music player: it’s a real-time AI creation studio, a social platform for sharing and discovering original music, and a showcase for some of the most advanced generative audio technology ever shipped to consumers at scale. At the Senior level, you’ll own major features end-to-end, drive engineering quality, and contribute to architectural decisions. At the Staff level, you’ll set the technical direction for the Android platform, mentor the team, and define the foundations that scale us to 10x our current user base and beyond. Our Android app has earned over 1.6 million reviews and a 4.8 rating on Google Play, with 10M+ downloads — a generative audio workstation in every user’s pocket, used by creators worldwide. The Android team is central to how people experience Suno: music creation, discovery, playback, social features, and real-time AI inference all live on this platform. If you care about building something that feels native, responsive, and genuinely delightful on Android, and you want to do it in one of the most exciting problem spaces in tech, this is the role. - Experience building fluid, polished animations and translating design prototypes into robust, production-grade code
- A keen understanding of what’s distinct about Android — and how to leverage that in a media-rich application
- Strong sense for performance: you profile, benchmark, and fix across UI rendering, memory, and network efficiency
- An obsession with great user experience — you care about the details that most engineers skip
- Comfort with ambiguity: you can scope work, make tradeoffs, and ship without a fully-defined spec
- A collaborative spirit and strong communication — you work fluidly with designers, PMs, and backend teams
- Strong Plusses
- Prior experience with ExoPlayer and Media3 for audio/video playback
- Experience working with audio streaming pipelines or real-time audio on Android
