About the role

School Counselor Interns support the execution of a comprehensive school counseling program aligned with the ASCA National Model, ensuring scholars receive data-driven, equitable, and developmentally appropriate support. They develop their professional practice while helping scholars become prepared for, admitted to, and successful through college. Interns implement activities to address scholars’ needs, consult and collaborate with school staff, and engage parents/guardians to support scholar success. GAIN EXPERIENCE IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS (UNDER SUPERVISION OF CREDENTIALED SCHOOL COUNSELOR) Provide Guidance to Support Middle/High School Completion Provide Guidance to Support College Matriculation and Completion Aligned with Scholar's Personal Interests and Strengths The strongest candidates will bring a commitment to Alliance’s mission of building an anti-racist, pro-Black community that prioritizes the success and well-being of Black and Brown scholars. Candidates should have a passion for promoting equity through anti-racist, student-centered teaching practices that celebrate racial and cultural identities. This role is rooted in service to systemically underserved communities in Los Angeles, helping scholars graduate “college-ready” with pride in who they are.

What you'll bring

  • Must be currently enrolled in a Master’s level school counseling program to qualify.
  • This position is intended for School Counseling graduate-level students to complete their fieldwork hours needed for completion of a School Counseling degree.
  • Enrollment in a program leading to a Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) Credential in School Counseling.
