This is not a standard classroom role; you will be the student’s primary connection to the world, providing both Deaf-Blind Intervener support and Specialized Academic Instruction (SAI) . As a Dual-Role Specialist, you will act as the student's "eyes and ears," utilizing tactile communication to bridge the gap between the curriculum and the student’s environment. What you'll bring
- A valid California Education Specialist Instruction Credential (Visual Impairments, Deaf and Hard of Hearing, or Extensive Support Needs).
- Proven experience with tactile communication methodologies (Tactile Sign, Hand-under-Hand).
- Mindset: A compassionate, patient professional who understands the social-emotional challenges of dual sensory loss.
- Communication: Strong ability to document progress for compensatory education reporting.
